Step: Get the HP printer setup kit.
Turn it on to find the HP printer installation disk, different wires, power adapter, and HP printer support manual.
Write down your printer model or version now.
It will be printed on the back or front of the device.
If you have a product key, write it down as well.
If you want to set up a wireless printer connection, you must have a static or dynamic IP address, subnet mask, and Gateway Information.
You can choose from your internet service provider (ISP).
Connect the HP printer to a power outlet using a power adapter and cable.
Plug one end of the power cord firmly into the HP printer and run the other end in the power adapter that comes with the kit.
Now connect the cable of the power adapter to the power outlet and turn it on.
Don\'t worry if your HP printer installation kit doesn\'t have a power adapter.
You can use the power cord to connect the printer directly to the power outlet.
However, the power adapter connection is more popular than the direct power connection.
The printer will start after it is turned on.
You will see the green power light on the printer.
This means that the printer is on and ready.
If not, press the power or On button On the device.
Now look for the USB cable to connect the printer to your computer and keep it handy.
Don\'t connect it, just put it next to it.
Turn off all programs currently open on the computer screen.
Upon completion, insert the HP printer installation disk into the computer drive and restart.
Select start from CD and follow on-screen prompts.
After the computer is restarted, you should see the HP printer installation wizard running automatically.
If you don\'t see the automatic prompt after waiting for 1-
2 minutes, click on the Start menu and browse to my computer (
Windows 7/Vista users should go to the computer).
Find mobile CD-ROM icon.
If this is your removable media directory, it may be under E drive.
It can be anything you choose as the default location.
Double click on CD and set.
Then click the run button to execute the Wizard.
When asked, enter the model number of the HP printer or make and accept the HP product license agreement.
Click next to continue after each command.
When prompted, connect the USB cable securely to the USB port of the computer and connect the other end of it to the USB port of the printer.
When connecting, the installation wizard will detect the hardware changes and prompt you accordingly.
If the wizard does not detect the printer and an error message is displayed, turn off the printer and turn it on.
The wizard will detect the printer.
Press a button.
When prompted, choose to install the necessary driver software.
You can choose the driver downloaded from the HP website (
Your internet connection at that time must be active)
From the HP printer installation disk itself or from the list of drivers on your computer.
In order for the last option to work properly, there must be all the necessary driver software on your computer.
Whatever option you choose, then click the Next button.
It may take some time, so be patient.
When prompted, customize the settings.
Choose whether to download the driver software updates and patches automatically or manually.
Choose whether to push the update install now or publish the updateinstallation.
You can also choose a wired or wireless connection.
For wireless connections, make sure the printer is properly connected to the correct port of the wireless router.
In addition, you will need the static or dynamic IP address, subnet mask, and Gateway information mentioned in the first step.
Once you are done, click the Finish button to close the installation wizard window and restart your computer.
Your computer will restart after it is completed.
Remove the installation disk and put it back in a safe place.
Put it back in the kit or put it away from damage, humidity and unauthorized contact.
You may need it in the future.
Go back to the computer when it\'s finished.
There will be a printer icon on the desktop, or you may see a notification that a new program is installed in the Start menu.
Open the HP printer from the shortcut and check the print settings by entering the properties menu.
When finished, print the test page.
