Rooted in Hunan: Fuyuang Supports Rural Revitalization in Ningyuan County

Fuyuang has always kept a close connection with its home province. Responding to China's "Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalize Ten Thousand Villages" initiative, the company launched a rural support project in Dongguachong Village, Ningyuan County, Hunan, aiming at sustainable local development rather than a one-off donation. This article explains what the project involves, how it is structured and where it goes next.

A Hunan Company Returning to Its Hometown

Since its launch in 2021, the "Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalize Ten Thousand Villages" initiative has mobilised over 235,000 private enterprises and benefited more than 160,000 villages nationwide.

As a company that grew out of Hunan, Fuyuang answered that call by going back to its roots and supporting Dongguachong Village with a long-term, development-oriented approach rather than a short-term gesture. In practice, that means the company is treated as a partner in the village's development over several years, not as a donor passing through.

"Giving back to our hometown is not only a responsibility but also a commitment we must fulfil. We never forget where we started, and we always care about the people in our hometown."

— Founder of Fuyuang

A Livestock Model Instead of One-Time Aid

Rather than distributing cash, Fuyuang chose a sustainable, regenerative model and donated 20 breeding ewes to local villagers. The animals generate value through reproduction, which lets households:

  • expand their herd through natural breeding;
  • earn income by selling lambs or meat;
  • build long-term self-sufficiency instead of short-term dependency.

This self-sustaining cycle addresses the challenges the village faces most directly — scarce resources, limited technical knowledge and unstable income sources. Because the value repeats each season, the support does not disappear once the initial donation is spent.

"These sheep are like a key to a better future. We will take good care of them and work hard to improve our lives."

Three Steps That Make the Support Last

To give the project a chance of succeeding beyond the first year, Fuyuang introduced a structured support plan:

  1. Establishing local cooperation groups to reduce costs and improve efficiency;
  2. Providing technical training through agricultural experts and on-site guidance;
  3. Connecting with market channels in advance so that stable income opportunities exist before production peaks.

The model deliberately mixes economic support with skill development and long-term independence. Training and market access are the parts villagers cannot easily arrange on their own, which is why they sit at the centre of the plan.

A Pilot Project With Room to Scale

The initiative is currently running as a pilot. Based on how it performs, Fuyuang plans to extend the model to more villages. The stated directions include expanding livestock support programmes, building evaluation systems that measure impact rather than activity, and strengthening technical training and market access for villagers. The aim is not only to lift income levels but to leave communities with knowledge and sustainable development capabilities.

Responsibility Beyond the Factory Gate

The rural support project reflects how Fuyuang approaches corporate social responsibility outside its day-to-day business. Founded in 2005, the company specialises in battery chargers, power adapters and LED power supplies, employs 450 people and operates 108,000 m² of self-built plants in Dongguan, Guangdong and Yongzhou, Hunan. Its products carry global approvals including UL, cUL, ETL, FCC, TUV/GS, CE, CB, UKCA, PSE, KC, SAA, RCM, CCC, NOM, BIS, RoHS and REACH, with company certification covering ISO9001, ISO14001 and QC080000 and the BSCI social compliance audit passed.

That manufacturing base in Yongzhou, Hunan, is the practical link between the company and the province it came from — and the reason the village project is treated as a long-term commitment. Fuyuang will continue supporting rural revitalization and contributing to stronger, more sustainable communities, combining practical solutions with a long-term vision to create shared value for society and for its partners.
